It seems that our relatively affluent societies are being overcome by a? new pandemic of 'acopia' - when people have a minor medical complaint that should be addressed by common sense, simple first aid or a visit to their general practitioner they now think it appropriate to call the ambulance service. Perhaps if they are billed heavily for wasting a precious resource they might 'develop' common sense.
